The IGMH Laboratory is the largest and most advanced medical laboratory in the Maldives, operating under the Male’ City Group of Hospitals—one of the country’s leading state healthcare institutions. As a fully government run facility, all laboratory services are comprehensively covered under the Aasandha national health insurance scheme, ensuring accessible and affordable diagnostic care for every citizen.
Equipped with state‑of‑the‑art diagnostic platforms, the IGMH Laboratory provides an extensive range of routine and specialized investigations. It is home to the first Total Laboratory Automation (TLA) system in the Maldives, enabling faster turnaround times, improved accuracy, and seamless workflow integration across laboratory disciplines.
Specialized services such as allergy testing, PCR diagnostics, and newborn screening support complex patient needs and strengthen national healthcare capabilities.
For highly specialized tests not available within the country, the laboratory facilitates sample referral to accredited international reference laboratory—fully covered under Aasandha—ensuring that patients receive timely and reliable results for advanced diagnostic panels.
